Spinning the chakkar or wheel is an important event of gatka, a popular Punjabi martial art form. The main purpose of chakkar is to defend the warrior as he would spin the wheel around holding the center of it and anyone who would come close would be injured.In the time of war, the balls on the edge of the wheels are replaced with sharp objects. |
