In Punjab people often practice a famous Sikh martial arts known as Gatka. this is a traditional martial art of Punjab. this form of martial arts is very popular among Punjabi youth and they usually get training in gurudwara ( sikh religious place) or in akharas which means institutions to teach physical exercises and martial arts.
