Lavani dance, Maharashtrian folk dance is energetic and entertaining. Lavani is derived from the word "Lavanya", which means beauty. The dancers wear the sari in traditional Maharashtrian style. There are two types of this form of folk dance – nirguni lavani and shringari lavani. Lavani is also popular in southern part of Madhya Pradesh. |
