Intricately carved chhatris of Jahaz Mahal are examples of Islamic architecture. Built in the Lodi period, Jahaz Mahal in Delhi is a magnificent specimen of ancient Indian architecture. The palace is built on the banks of a tank named Hauz-I-Shamshi and it appears to be floating on the lake. For this reason the beautiful palace is known as Jahaz Mahal or Ship Palace. |
