Jantar mantar, the 18th century astronomical observatory is among the prime tourist attractions in Jaipur. Built by maharaja jai singh II, jantar mantar houses a number of unique structures that were constructed for making different astronomical calculations. With their typical architectural and geometrical pattern, these ancient astronomical instruments now stand as fine specimens of ancient Indian architecture. |
