A staired structure in jantar mantar. Located in the heart of the beautiful city of Jaipur, jantar mantar was built by maharaja jai singh II in the early 18th century as an astronomical observatory. Located over a huge area, the jantar mantar houses several unique structures that were used as astronomical instruments. For their unique designs, these structures now stand as fine instances of ancient Indian architecture. |
