Qutub Minar: icon of Indo-Islamic architecture

Set amidst the arched structures is the famous red and buff sandstone tower known as the Qutub Minar which is arguably the tallest stone tower in the entire world and its foundation dates back to as early as 1199 A.D. The structure of the Qutub Minar was started by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1199 and it was finished by his son-in-law, Iltutmish.
