Asian deer, popularly known as Sambar deer, is characterized by it's long antlers and mane. Though Sambar deer mainly live in tropical forests, in India they can be found in the forests of the Himalayan mountains. Mainly feed on coarse vegetation, grass, and herbs, Sambar deer are diurnal animals who live in herds of 5 to 6 members. |
