Spotted Deer or Chital are the deer commonly inhabit the wooded regions of India and also in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. One of the most common deer species in Indian forest, these are also known as axis deer. In a herd of spotted deer, the male deer with hard antlers are dominant over the other individuals. The antlers shed annually. |
