111Spotted deer or axis deer is the most common species of deer in Indian forests. Popularly known as \'chital\' or \'cheetal\' deer, these animals commonly inhabits wooded regions of mostly of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. Living in a group consisting of twenty to fifty individuals, Chital prefer to take grasses and vegetation as their food. |
