Gharial, also known as Indian gharial or gavial, is one type of reptile belonging to the family of Gavialidae. Gharial, the second longest of all living crocodilians, can easily be found in the Indian rivers, but the numbers are decreasing rapidly. Mainly fishes are their preferred food, whereas the young gharials eat insects, larvae, and small frogs. |
